a song to carry me through

Do you ever hang onto every word of a song? Sometimes it's like food for the soul for me. The one feeding me today is Made My Glad by Hillsong United.

I will bless the Lord forever
I will trust Him at all times
He has delivered me from all fear
He has set my feet upon a rock
I will not be moved
And I'll say of the Lord
You are my shield,
my strength,
my portion deliverer,
my shelter,
strong tower,
my very present help in time of need.

Though times are tough, I trust that I'm right where He intends for me to be. He is my shield, my strength, my portion deliverer, my shelter, strong tower, and my very present help in time of need. Amen.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. -Psalm 28:7

remembering 9/11

The tenth anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11 is upon us, and one Virginia B&B is honoring first responders with a free night's stay. If you're an active police officer, firefighter, military, or emergency services personnel, reserve a room for 9/10/11 and the Richard Johnston Inn will give you the night of 9/11/11 for free. the window seat, please ii

I have my modest desk not in the middle of the room, but directly in front of a window. It's comfortable and minus the house next door, the view is fine. I'm in the trees, nose to nose with the squirrels in the oak tree; inspiration washes over me.

The proof of a father-daughter wedding dance 10 years ago keeps me company and reminds me of home. My window seat. Home.

Smiles,
