broken records

I think I've said it before. Maybe not here, but definitely in real conversation. P-Whitey's the man. Dude broke two records yesterday in WVU's winning tussle against Louisville. Pat White is the new NCAA record holder for the most career yards rushed by a quarterback - 4,292 is this week's number. The season isn't over yet, boys ...

It wasn't enough to break just one record yesterday. White went ahead and broke another. Donovan McNabb was the previous holder of the most career touchdowns accounted for. Pat White now wears that crown, too. The magic number is 98 for this week.

my mount'neers were out-played

My heart was racing and my lips were passing shameful curses no more than 20 to 30 minutes into the WVU vs. ECU game yesterday. Where did my team go? They didn't show up in Moorefield, NC, that's for sure.

I was so hoping that this would be a phenomenal year for Pat White. He's worked so hard and has had to carry the team on his shoulders from time to time. I surmise that neither the Heisman nor the National Championship will be in his future this year, as the defensive line is just too young. It's a rebuilding year and we'll all just have to ride it out and hope we have some good moments to cheer for. Maybe ECU was just a fluke. Here's to hoping.

today's the day

Oh my goodness! I have so been looking forward to today. It's GAME DAY! Woo Hoo! My butt is glued to the couch for the day as I get my fill of the first Saturday of college football. (Gift Idea: Check out that awesome Mountaineer recliner! I'd need two, as James would steal mine.)

Upset Alerts:
ECU over VT
'Bama over Clemson
Illinois over Mizzou

way to go, american girls!

What a fantastic way to finish after the team's heartbreaker earlier in the week. Congratulations, Nastia Liukin, for bringing home the gold and being the best all-around gymnast, and to Shawn Johnson for edging out Yang Yilin for the silver!

i knew he could do it!

Michael Phelps became the most decorated Olympian of all time as he broke his previous World Record in the 200m butterfly and left his competitors in his wake. Michael Phelps is the proud owner of 10 Olympic gold medals, for now. He will undoubtedly add more before these 2008 games have concluded.
