I've solved the presidential indecision. Cast your ballot for Dr. Seuss for President! Well, maybe not. But you could go to P & C Art Gallery in Old Town Alexandria to see the "Dr. Seuss for President" Art Exhibition. Opening reception is October 4th at 6:30. The exhibition will be on display through December 31st. Pretty cool stuff. If you can't make the actual exhibition, peep some of the great Dr.'s political humor at The Art of Dr. Seuss website.

fall's on my mind

Trying to pin point the exact weekend to take a leaf peeping drive can be a challenge, huh? It is for us. So much going on and you never know when those leaves are going to reach the climax of their show.
To help, Virginia's Department of Forestry has a Fall Foliage in Virginia blog. Furthermore, Virginia Tourism Corporation offers a weekly Virginia Leaf Report; sign up here!

thinkin' birthday
Baby girl's birthday is coming up and I, fortunately, stumbled on this really awesome cake pan from Wilton! Think big picture. Yes, it's absolultely adorable as a giant cupcake with confetti (or decorated for Halloween), but then there are all these other ideas, too!
Baby girl would love to have a Hannah Montana birthday party, but I haven't decided yet. She'll still be a tender age. Her six year old mind and body is a good hiding place for her 13 year old attitude. Gosh. I can't believe she's almost six years old. Everyone says it, but it really does feel like "just yesterday" that she was the tiny, fragile preemie that I couldn't let go of. But again ... 13 year old attitude. Not so hard to let go now. ;-) So yeah, maybe Hannah Montana would be a good fit for this already hormonal little girl. Lord, please grant me patience these next 12 years.
